Coaching

I coach runners both with RunAsOne and privately. Depending on your level of experience and requirements from a coach depends on which service suits you best. My aim is to ensure I am helping you get the most out of your running within reason given other variables in your life (time, money, other hobbies etc) so if that criteria is ever not being met then you should stop and change things.

Coaching through RunAsOne:

  • Group training sessions in Vic Park, Tuesday’s and Friday’s at 6:30am and an individual program: Price available through enquiry only.
  • Individual program only (no group training): Price available through enquiry only.
  • Training is delivered via a spreadsheet and monitored using Strava. Communication via email and text when required.
  • Best suited to those runners who like a program for accountability and the benefits of being in a community environment.
  • Currently AT CAPACITY.

Coaching privately:

  • $80 per month using FinalSurge training platform.
  • Can be combined with group membership with RunAsOne or any other training group.
  • Increased communication and feedback using the FinalSurge app along with email, text and Zoom calls when required.
  • Best suited to runners of all ability who want more interaction and feedback with their running especially when starting out or building to a particular goal race.
  • Limited spots available. Currently OPEN for business.
An example look at FinalSurge’s layout on the desktop. The phone app is very good as well with each ‘workout’ being able to be commented and analysed within FinalSurge.

Now, if you’re unsure as to what method is best for you then email me with a little spiel of why you would like to be coached and I’ll be able to help point you in the right direction. If you think that’s weird that I would give you advice, well then coaching is probably not for you!

I don’t like to boast about my coaching too much but if you need convincing that I am a suitable coach then either scroll the About Me page on this website or visit this page on RunAsOne’s website. Or, here is a quick summary:

  • Athletics Australia Level 1 Recreational Coach (the most basic qualification you can get and keeps me registered and licensed)
  • Coach with RAO for two years equating to over 100 different athletes and probably 1500 different monthly programs
  • Coached; several sub 3 hour marathoners, a 2nd place at Ultra Trail Kosciusko, someone to qualify for the World 70.3 Champs, a 22 minute 5k runner into a 17:high 5k runner and consistent 80-90km’s a week, a variety of middle-aged women running close to 20 minutes for 5k and also aiming to break 25 minutes for 5k or just run their first half or full marathons, a shift worker going from a 40 minute 10k PB to effectively running his debut marathon at that pace, and a runner with a chaotic training and racing history into a multiple podium winner and regular 140km a week type runner… plus also myself, an obsessed person who has documented their training for the last four years on this blog.
